A Taylored Life
You made it to my site! Welcome. I’m Taylor, a San Francisco native, who recently moved back to home SF after a year of living in Atlanta while my husband attended Emory’s MBA program. Professionally, I help companies tell stories by creating content and perfecting their digital strategy to improve their online presence.
Personally, I fill my spare time with travel, eating good food, and drink expensive wine. So, that’s what you’ll get in this blog.
Oh, and I have the cutest maltipoo in the world, and his name is Rexford, and he’s got a mean underbite.
I was born in San Francisco – in Noe Valley to be exact. For those of you who are based in SF, I’m basically a very rare breed. My parents decided to move down to the peninsula, and I grew up in a town called Emerald Hills. No one knows where that is, but that’s OK. I went to middle & high school in Los Altos Hills, and I’ve maintained the friendships that I made there for many years…. I also happened to marry my elementary school crush this year 🙂
I went to undergrad at UCSB, graduating with a double major in Communications & English. Life in SB was awesome, and it will always have a very special place in my heart! Shortly after, I attended the Stanford Graduate School of Business, a summer session for recent undergraduates to explore future MBA opportunities.
My first job I got out of college was in London, working as a Marketing Manager at NB Real Estate. It was one of the most eye opening and wonderful experiences I’ve ever had. I worked with an incredible group of people and was lead by great bosses. I will forever be grateful for what I learned from them.
During my few years in London, I became fully immersed in everything British – music, lifestyle, fashion, politics. Due to the generous holiday policy, I traveled at least every month to different countries, ranging from Denmark, to Dubai, to France, to Egypt, to Italy, to Germany, to Ireland, to Spain, to the Netherlands, to Belgium…. you get the idea.
In 2009, despite feeling completely heartbroken about my decision, I chose to leave London and return back to the US to attend USF’s MBA program
Back to San Francisco…
Shortly after my return to the states, I began an MBA program at University of San Francisco with a focus on marketing and international business. During my full time program, I started a company with a few classmates. Glamping Hub was started in 2010, and they continue to do amazing things! I also had the chance to go on a several week trip to China and Thailand to explore different businesses and industries. (Well Thailand was for fun, but it gave me the excuse to go!)
Also during my time in SF, I fell in love with wine country, the amazing food scene in the city, the summer festivals, the San Francisco Giants (obviously), and I got to spend a lot of quality time with my family.
Other Things I Enjoy
I am an athlete, and I’ve done three triathlons, three half marathons, and countless smaller races (and trail races!). I have raised upward of $12k during the past few years for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and Best Buddies International.
I am a oenophile. I love exploring wineries and new restaurants everywhere I travel. I can’t wait to share wines and restaurants that I love with you. Plus, I love to cook. (Honestly, I only run so I don’t get fat).
I love to travel. Each year I go on one big trip to some fabulous location. Experiencing the world and meeting new people is one of the most beautiful things in the world.
